When we started to develop this website, we began compiling the photographs from over the years. It is through these photographs that the story can be told. The Diner has been more than a restaurant, and more than a place to grab a quick bite to eat. It has been a place that we have developed countless relationships. We have shared the highs, and the lows; experienced the joys and come together in the unfortunate losses. Through all this we have come up with one saying to describe it, “Some people become friends, and some friends become family.” This has been the saying that describes us and what we call our PVD family.
To explain where we are, you first have to know where we have been. Most people from town know the story and even experienced it. That Laura started as the 14 year old bus girl through the years went from Bus Girl, to Server, to Manager, and now Owner. Although this is a great story, and sometimes the focus in discussions and articles like this, it is only a fraction of the story. It wasn’t the ascension through the ranks that was important, it was the 18 years of relationships that have mattered.
When it comes to the food, we have always prided ourselves on serving home-style comfort food at reasonable prices. The Diner serves breakfast all day and has a different daily special each day. We have mentioned that the Diner has been a family of sorts, and through the years people have come and gone. It is a place that you are always made to feel welcome. As the years march on some of the faces may change, but the family style atmosphere remains the same. If it is a place that you haven’t experienced, we will have a seat at the counter waiting for you. If the lights are on, so is the coffee. We’ll see you soon!
